My Honest Review as a First Time Mom of the WONDBORN Portable Bottle Warmer

I never knew I needed so many baby accessories up until I became a mom and with the millions of recommendations over social media, I’m always skeptical about certain products. I always scrutinize a product and reason if I really need it before purchasing because we all have to admit just how things could add up and get expensive. One of the “essentials” I went back and forth with was a bottle warmer. I have one plug-in that was a hand-me-down from a friend and while that worked, it isn’t really the easiest to clean and it wasn’t portable at all.
Along came the need for portable bottle warmers.
It didn’t take me a long time to figure out that I needed a portable bottle warmer especially after my baby started rejecting cold milk. Winter is also around the corner and the last thing I want is to give my baby a cold milk bottle whenever we’re out on a chilly winter day. I mean, even adults need a warm drink when out in the snow, how much more a baby! Went and searched for “portable bottle warmer” and the options are overwhelming – there are so many to choose from and so much to compare. Like other moms, I went into digging and ranked my options from functionality, cleaning, versatility, and design. I found myself going for WONDBORN. The minimalistic design and color caught my attention at first but I was more intrigued by its features. It’s the only one I saw with a detachable base and I thought I’d give it a try.

Testing its limits
I seriously wasn’t expecting much from a portable milk warmer but when the package arrived, my first thought was: “this product looks very durable and has a well-thought of design”. You can tell by the inner metal that the quality is not sub-par but of course, I have to test it first before concluding. First use was during a road trip, I immediately liked the wide mouth opening to pour breastmilk in – totally saved me from spills. Then came the easy mount to the charger base, it clicks very good and secure. I’m not sure how other products are with the temperature adjustments but I love that I am able to set my desired temperature by single degrees (in 1*F increments) rather than 3-5 preset levels, this allows me to be more specific with how warm the milk would be. Fresh from the fridge, my milk was at 41*F and it only took 3-4mins to warm it up to my desired temperature of 98*F. My plug-in bottle warmer would take 6 minutes to do that and I must say I’m very impressed at how fast it warmed up! I’m guessing since the design is deeper and wider, it allows for more heating surface, making the heating process faster. Plus, the easy-pour design makes it mess-free to put the warm milk back into the bottle. The person who designed this bottle warmer on the go is a genius!

More Usage
I am a working mom who some days would leave the baby at home with my husband and during this time, my husband never has to worry about giving baby milk as he finds the WONDBORN bottle warmer very convenient to thaw and warm frozen milk straight from the freezer. I thought to myself — my investment buying this product has already paid off the moment my husband used the bottle warmer while I’m away! Whether it’s milk formula or water that you’re trying to warm up, I can only imagine this product working just as excellent as it did with both my cold and frozen breastmilk — there’s no doubt in that.

Cleaning.
When I was on the hunt for portable bottle warmers, WONDBORN’s wide mouth design caught my attention the most because as a mom, the last thing you really want to do is struggle with cleaning. I was never wrong because what do you mean I could easily wiggle my fingers to reach the bottom of the bottle warmer while wiping it with clean wipes? I doubt other bottle warmer’s shape would allow you to do that. What amazes me most is that the detachable body and cover is dishwasher safe! Why am I raving about this? Because not only does it get spotless clean after being in the dishwasher but best of all — it does not warp!

Versatility
At this point you can definitely tell I’m sold with the product and I’m not denying that I’ve taken the WONDBORN travel bottle warmer everywhere. At the beach, on long road trips from South Texas to North Wisconsin — literally across the US, on air travel (it passed TSA check), and even just to use at home. So yes, I am definitely sold but if there’s an unexpected use of the product it’s keeping milk cold. Yep, you read that right — I’ve placed ice chips in it along with a bag of milk and it kept it cold for 10 hours! When it was time to use it, I simply thawed and warmed the ice chips then transferred the milk in the bag into the bottle to warm it in the warmer. It would be hard to deinfluence me with this product at this point.
The Verdict.
If it isn’t obvious yet then I’ll state it — a portable bottle warmer is that one mom gadget easily overlooked at. You thought you won’t need one until you actually start using one. And if I haven’t convinced you yet of which bottle warmer to get, then you will totally miss out.
